“A man should hear a little music, read a little poetry, and see a fine picture every day of his life in order that worldly cares may not obliterate the sense of beautiful that God implanted in his soul.” Goethe
Team Penning at Canowindra (NSW) on the June long weekend 2012 … I am in awe of the teamwork required and exhibited, not only by horse and rider, but also between the three riders involved. Taken during my recent two month ramble around our beautiful countryside.
We Australians have a way of idolising our notorious members of society!! Bushranger Ben Hall is here standing in state outside the restored Forbes (NSW) railway station (now a museum and craft centre). Mind you Ben Hall never killed anyone, but was nevertheless shot dead by police acting under the Felons Apprehension Act 1865, which allowed known bushrangers to be shot and killed rather than taken to trial. The legality of this killing remains controversial. More fascinating info may be found at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ben_Hall_(bushranger). Photo taken on my recent travels out west on a really wet and dreary Winter day.
